Kate petley awarded the franz mayer of munich residency, april 2015

Duende Art Project congratulates one of our partnering artists, Kate Petley, on being awarded a residency this September at the prestigious Franz Mayer of Munich Glass Studio in Germany.  This world-renown company began its long history in 1847 and their international projects bring artists’ work to structural projects with incredible results.

Each year, a handful of artists are invited to the Munich studio to create glass and mosaic samples of their work.  It is an honor to be selected, as this special opportunity is not available through an application process.  Petley's longstanding use of transparent materials makes this residency a great match.

Several mixed media works from her latest series "Snap"  (4 shown in the top left) are available through the Duende Art Project.

rising fog becomes cloud: artist talk, september 2014

Duende Art Project and BLUEorange Contemporary invite you to an artist talk and brunch for our current exhibition, rising fog becomes cloud by Tae Lee.

The artist talk begins at 2pm on Sunday, September 28, 2014, and will be followed with a reception through 4pm. Refreshments and light bites will be served. Blue Orange Contemporary is located at 1208 West Gray St., Houston, TX 77019.

Tae’s work successfully seduces viewers into a dimension where human empathy and introspection merge into one state of consciousness, both calming and unsettling. Through his paintings and drawings of Jungian figures and wispy poetry, Tae authenticates his position on the exquisitely strenuous nature of the human condition and enlightened awareness.
